Ana Peixoto

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music – Instrument specialization (viola) from ESART – Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas de Castelo Branco, where she studied with Joana Pereira, David Wyn Lloyd, and António Pereira.
She has participated in masterclasses with Danuta Grossmannová, Francien Schatborn, Dorothea Vogel, Christophe Desjardins, Aida-Carmen Soanea, Ana Bela Chaves, Joana Pereira, Augusto Trindade, and Eliseu Pereira.

She collaborates with several orchestras, including Orquestra Sem Fronteiras (OSF), Neue Philharmonie München (NPhM), Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa (OCP), Sinfonietta de Castelo Branco, and the Thomar Symphony Orchestra. She is a regular member of the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra (OFP), with which she has performed in several prestigious venues, such as the Berliner Philharmonie.

Since 2019, she has been the violist of the chamber music project Quartz Quintet – a string quartet with accordion – with which she has participated in various artistic projects and festivals, including the Paços de Brandão International Music Festival and the Madeira Chamber Music Festival. The group contributed to the album Raiz do Som I, recording three works by Portuguese composers. In 2021, they were awarded 2nd prize in the Prémio Jovens Músicos competition, in the Chamber Music (Higher Level) category, and they currently perform in various regions of the country.

She has performed under the baton of Julien Benichou, Peter Stark, Rui Pinheiro, Jean-Sébastien Béreau, Osvaldo Ferreira, Jan Wierzba, Martim Sousa Tavares, Lorenzo Viotti, Joana Carneiro, Fuad Ibrahimov, Cesário Costa, and Pedro Carneiro, among others.

She currently teaches at the Santarém Conservatory of Music and the Conservatory of Music and Arts of Dão.
