A graduate of the Lisbon Theater and Film School (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema), she is an actress who can be described, with absolute merit, as a true comedienne.
She made her professional debut in 1991, under the direction of Armando Cortez, at the Teatro Villaret. Since then, her career has seen a steady rise, featuring prominently in numerous television programs, films, and theater productions.
Her long and prolific collaboration with Herman José has produced characters the likes of which had never been seen in Portugal performed by a woman, with "Zé Manel Taxista" being perhaps the most long-running. Throughout her career, she has received several awards and distinctions for her contribution to culture and the arts.
With a charismatic and intelligent presence, she is one of the most respected figures on the Portuguese artistic stage.
She was honored with the rank of Officer of the Order of Merit by the President of the Republic Jorge Sampaio in 1999.
