The pianist Rosa Maria Barrantes began her musical studies at the age of six in her hometown of Lima, Peru. She later pursued her training at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Santiago de Chile), where she completed her advanced degree under the guidance of Professor Maria Iris Radrig\u00e1n. Subsequently, she entered the prestigious Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, studying in the class of Professor Natalia Troull, where she went on to earn her Doctorate with the highest honors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was during this period in Moscow that her piano duo with Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro was formed. Over the past two decades, the duo has performed in several European countries, the United States, and Latin America. They recorded an album featuring works by Debussy, Faur\u00e9, Ravel, Satie, and Poulenc, which received excellent reviews from the specialized press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the field of chamber music, Rosa Maria Barrantes was a member of the American Trio and frequently collaborates with the DSCH \u2013 Schostakovich Ensemble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She has performed alongside some of the most prominent musicians on the international stage, such as Anna Samuil, Pascal Moragu\u00e8s, Viviane Hagner, Christian Polt\u00e9ra, Corey Cerovsek, Adrian Brendel, Marcelo Nisinman, H\u00e9ctor del Curto, Chen Halevi, Jack Liebeck, and Gary Hoffman, among many others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She has served as a Professor of Piano and Chamber Music for the Bachelor of Music program at the Piaget Institute, the Metropolitana Professional School, and the Lisbon Metropolitan Conservatory (Conservat\u00f3rio Metropolitano de Lisboa).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
